Alkemy is designed to be enjoyed neat but is also extremely versatile. This means that it works exceptionally well in place of rum or whiskey in cocktails. Get started with some of these ideas, or experiment with your own.

Cuba Libre

Cuba Libre

Is it a Cuba libre if it is this type of rum or that type of rum? Who cares, Alkemy isn’t even rum, it’s sugar beet spirit, it’s newer and better. So is this cocktail…

Ingredients
Alkemy 60ml
Cola of your choice 120ml
Lime wedges

Glass – Highball

Put the Alkemy and cola into a highball glass with ice, squeeze two lime wedges into the glass or throw them away if you like it to look cleaner and drop in a fresh wedge.

Mojito

Mojito

Alkemy isn’t dark rum, it’s better. It isn’t white rum either, it’s better. With that in mind, this isn’t an official Mojito either, it’s better. Impress your friends on a warm summer night with this refreshing, exciting “better than your average” Mojito

Ingredients
Alkemy 60ml
Simple Syrup 15ml
Mint leaves Small Handful
Sparkling Water Top up
Lime wedge

Glass – High Ball Glass

Put six to eight mint leaves in the bottom of the glass then the brown sugar and then the lime wedge on top. With a muddler and gently smoosh it all trying not to break up the leaves. Then add the rum, simple syrup and a cup of crushed ice and gently mix. Now top up with sparkling water and mix again with the straw. Pop a sprig of mint on top and serve.

Old Fashioned

Old Fashioned

We know, it’s not got the right ingredients for an old fashioned, it’s got Alkemy instead. It’s a new way to enjoy a great cocktail. If you want to really impress your friends you can make your own syrup instead and flavour it with what YOU think goes with Alkemy. Try earl grey tea, orange peel or a teaspoon of sugar beet molasses.

Ingredients
Alkemy 60ml
Bitters 2 Dashes
Sugar cube
Orange peel

Glass – Low Ball or Rocks glass

Put the sugar cube in the bottom of the glass, put two dashes of bitters on top and cush it with a muddler. Add some ice cubes and Alkemy. Stir. Twist the orange peel over the glass and drop it in.

Dark and Stormy

Dark and Stormy

A dark rum classic but with Alkemy. This is a perfect cocktail for so many occasions, just practice pouring the Alkemy slowly on the top to make everyone think you had a secret life as a mixologist. The key with this as with many Alkemy cocktails is not to dilute the Alkemy too much. Just drink it slower like a grown-up and enjoy.

Ingredients
Alkemy 60ml
Ginger beer 90ml

Glass – Highball

Pour ginger beer over ice and slowly add Alkemy to the top of the glass

Espresso Martini

Espresso Martini

Want to have the best version of an espresso martini? Unsurprisingly we think that this is it. With the added refined taste of Alkemy the good old classic espresso martini hits new levels. Add an extra element by making your own syrup and flavouring it with cinnamon. Super pro.

Ingredients
Alkemy 60ml
Espresso 40ml
Sugar syrup 15ml
Coffee liquor 22ml
Coffee beans 3

Glass – Martini Glass

Make the espresso. Put ice in the martini glass. Put the espresso, Alkemy, coffee liquor and sugar syrup into a shaker with ice. Shake a lot. Tip out the ice from the martini glass and strain into the glass. Carefully pop the beans on top of the foam. Caaarefuuul.

Alkemy Sour

Alkemy Sour

That’s right! It’s a whiskey sour but with Alkemy. We can’t give it a new interesting name because it wouldn’t make any sense. Egg is obviously optional, because, seriously not everyone can handle lemon juice and raw egg whites on a Friday afternoon.

Ingredients
Alkemy 60ml
Fresh lemon juice 30ml
Simple syrup 22ml
Egg whites 22ml/one eggs worth
Orange slice One

Glass – Low Ball/
Rocks glass

Shake in a shaker with ice, strain into a glass with new ice and garnish with a brandied cherry.
